Robert Half Technology Implements Enterprise-level Microsoft® Collaboration System

Company Profile
This company generated revenues of approximately $260 million in 2006.
Their products are found in more than 22,000 stores worldwide.

Industry: Personal Care
Location: Eastern United States

Technology Environment
Microsoft Windows 2003 Server® with Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA) 2004, Microsoft SharePoint® Server 2.0, Microsoft Office Live Communications Server (LCS) 2005, Windows Storage Server, Microsoft Antigen for Exchange

Client Dilemma
Our client was in the process of implementing a new online communications system - including e-mail, instant messaging and spam filtering - across the entire enterprise, with the goal of transitioning to a platform built on Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Active Directory.

The client had initially used a consultant from another staffing firm to help assist with the installation. However, that individual lacked sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory, and thus did a poor job on the task. This resulted in major installation, functionality and performance issues which needed to be resolved immediately.

Robert Half's Technology Solution
After discovering the initial consultant could not complete the task, the client called Robert Half Technology to provide a consultant with the skills to not only make their existing e-mail system operational in a hurry, but also to assist in implementing the in-house migration of their system and to install a scalable, enterprise-level e-mail application. As an experienced network administrator with extensive expertise in multiple Microsoft solutions, our consultant had the skill-set our client sought. Additionally, this consultant was proficient in Microsoft Exchange Server disaster recovery, establishing fault-tolerance and system redundancy, and migrating domain settings in Active Directory.

Client's Return on Investment
Our client shared with us that they would have lost weeks or months of implementation time if they had not contacted Robert Half Technology. Additionally, they would have paid thousands of dollars to the earlier unskilled consultant from the other firm and their project would not have been completed successfully.

The Bottom Line
Our client benefited from the quick system recovery that the Robert Half Technology consultant provided, as well as the new Microsoft e-mail system implementation.

Robert Half Technology provided the client with the services that the original IT staffing firm was unable to deliver. The client's in-house communication now runs using Microsoft LCS 2005, which provides them with a secure, scalable, enterprise-level instant messaging and collaboration tool.
